Hurricane Michael Latest Update

The city of Augusta is advising all citizens to prepare for the possible effects of Hurricane Michael. Mayor Hardie Davis Jr., Administrator Janice Allen Jackson and Fire /Emergency Management Chief Chris James recommended that everyone keep at least three days worth of food, water and medications.

Also, Chief James announced that the city will open at least one shelter at 6 p.m. today. The city could experience flash flooding and power outages due to high winds.  Administrator Jackson will soon announce any potential changes to the city’s garbage collection schedule and other city services.  More information will be available later today.
