Chamber professional wins sales award

The Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives has awarded Anne-Rutledge Kacos of Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce its Bronze Lifetime Sales Achievement award for 500 transactions, or $175,000 in sales.

Kacos was awarded this honor in the $500,000 to $1,500,000 dues income category for dollar value of new sales. Four categories – over $1.5 million, $500,000 to $1.5 million, $200,000 to $499,000 and under $200,000 – correlate to different sizes of chambers of commerce, based on annual revenue from membership dues.

To be considered for an award, sales professionals must submit quarterly sales figures to ACCE. Kacos began her chamber career as director of membership development in 2016.

WIB Signature Event features Georgia Lottery CEO

The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce’s 2019 Women In Business Signature event will feature Gretchen Corbin, President & CEO of the Georgia Lottery Corporation.

The evening event will be held Oct. 17 at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center at 2 10th St. Tickets are $55 for chamber members and $65 for prospective members; corporate tables are available. Advanced registration is required at AugustaMetroChamber.com.

Corbin will offer perspectives on her career path, which include previous positions as commissioner of the Technical College System of Georgia and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.

Columbia County Chamber hosts golf tournament

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce has opened registration for its 15th annual Golf Tournament, which is scheduled for Oct. 14 at West Lake Country Club.

Morning flights start at 8 a.m.; afternoon at  1 p.m. Individual golfers $250; teams of four are $1,000. Corporate sponsorships are available ranging from $2,000 to $400.

Member Luncheon spotlights SRS growth

The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Member Economic Luncheon on Sept. 24 at 11:30 a.m. will feature guest speaker Dave Olson of Savannah River Nuclear Solutions speaking on “Growing the Mission at SRS.”

Olson, SRNS’ Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility mission director, will discuss the dynamics of transforming the former MOX facility at Savannah River Site to fulfill plutonium PIT production.

Chamber ‘Membership 101’ set Oct. 10

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will host its Membership 101 event Oct. 10 at 4 p.m. to show new and prospective chamber members the benefits of membership.

The event will be held at the Columbia County Chamber Office at 1000 Business Blvd, Chairman Room A. Pre-registration recommended through the chamber’s website.

Candidates forum scheduled Oct 15

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will host its Candidates Forum Oct. 15 at the Harlem Library at 145 N Louisville St., beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The free event, Harlem Merchants Association, is open to the public and will feature a panel of city of Harlem officials.
