Augusta Prep takes region cross country titles

The Augusta Prep boys’ and girls’ cross country teams earned region titles at the Georgia Independent School Association Region 4-AAA meet in Loganville, Ga., on Saturday.

The boys scored a perfect 15 with Hayes Trapp (1st), Ben Monnig (2nd), Alex Schmacht (3rd), Jack Collier (4th),Colin Schmacht (5th) and Gray Barbee (7th). All five Cavalier runners earned All-Region nods.

Four Augusta Prep girls (Aine Trapp, Amy Riordan, Mackenzie Loo and Beatty Joseph) finished in the top-10 and earned All-Region honors, as well.

Next stop for the Cavaliers is the GISA State Meet on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Albany State University.
