The Augusta-area’s best video gamer can add world champion to his long list of accolades.

Last weekend, Garrett “GarrettG” Gordon and his NRG eSports team won the Rocket League Season 8 championship. The world championship was held in Madrid, Spain.

NRG took the first place prize $200,000 as well as the trophy. It was the first time NRG has won the Rocket League World Championship.

Gordon is a professional video gamer from Evans, Ga.
