You voted: Here’s the Augusta-area Week 2 high school football Player of the Week

Augusta Prep’s Adam Bussey has been named Augusta Chronicle Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. Bussey received 43 percent of the vote (73,613).

Bussey helped lead his team to a 41-0 win over the Georgia School for Innovation and Classics last Friday night. He had touchdown runs of 53 and 52 yards in the first half.

Augusta Prep faces Glascock County Friday night with the opportunity for a third straight victory after going winless a year ago. The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m.

Harlem’s Jeremiah Ellis finished second in the vote with 38 percent (63,296) and Aquinas’ RJ Edwards received 11 percent (18,580).

Augusta Chronicle Football Player of the Week voting will be live each week from Monday morning until Wednesday at 9 p.m.
