“The ceremony itself was incredibly special,” Elizabeth said. “To be married in the church that my parents were married in and the church I grew up in, with my brother walking me down the aisle, meant so much.”

  • Like many brides, Elizabeth had a sixpence in the bottom of her shoe for luck and prosperity, but she added one other detail. On the bottom of the right shoe, she had her wedding date mounted on a small gold plate to commemorate her special day.
  • At the base of her wedding bouquet, ensconced in two handkerchiefs, one from her grandmother and another from her husband’s grandmother who was unable to attend the event, was a small picture of her father who passed away in 2011.
  • The couple had a signature cocktail served in themed cups to salute their alma maters. Elizabeth is a graduate of the University of Georgia and Mark graduated from Southern Methodist University.
